A person who is convicted of homosexuality may also be charged with adultery in case they have a partner of the opposite sex while having sexual relations with the same sex. Adultery and fornication are considered serious crimes and are punishable. Punishment includes jail time, fines, and deportation in case of expats. All sexual relations besides heterosexuality is criminalized under the laws of the UAE. The rights of the LGBT group are highly unacceptable in the UAE, especially in the emirates of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Sharjah.
